BMW Z4 GT3 Miku Hatsune - 1/24 Fujimi (3)

Some more work on the body: The front air intake (I think that's what it's called)
At first I thought it would simply be putting the PE part in the front, but it turns out there are lot more to do. Looking at the reference photos, there's a wedge on the sides of the intake:

So after a bit of work with plastic sheets, it looks close enough to the real thing...
The front part has been replaced with a thinner sheet, the sides looks rough, but once the body is on, it will cover most of it, and with the mesh on it seems it doesn't really matter if the inside is rough..

Next is the fitting of the mesh, the Hobby Design don't really fit quite well, they are a bit bigger than the spacing, but this turns out to be an advantage. I use some small plastic pieces to make wedges on the inside:

and the rear:

The front fits well, for the rear the inner corners of the mesh has to be trimmed, after all the modifications I made to the rear part, I guess I can't expect them to fit just perfectly...

The side mirrors, surprisingly fujimi got the side mirrors wrong! A bar is missing, so comes the copper rod:

So far the modification on the body is complete, next will be moving on to the inside, and the biggest challenge: the exhaust......
