MSN-02 Zeong (High Mobility Type) - 1/100 G-System (2)

It's a month apart from my last entry, but it's already 5 months into building this kit...
In my previous entry I mentioned the kit itself was quite well made, the parts fit quite well.... but in reality that isn't enough, take the collar and rear cover as an example:
This is after the first coat of primer, with the gaps being filled. Basically the procedure is: filling any obvious gaps and holes ---> first coat of primer ---> sand the whole part and looks for gaps ---> fill the gaps ---> primer again... usually by the second coat most of the surface is smooth, but sometimes I have to repeat 2 to 3 times before I am satisfied. This process takes about a week, and each week I work on roughly 10 parts, so with about 120 parts, you'll understand why I took 5 months to finish the surface.

So this is about a week's work:
I'd love to do more, but the sanding has already given me a sore shoulder....

So that's basically how I deal with the resin kit, I guess I'll just post the parts which needs more treatment, as the rest are pretty straight forward...

The waist base (not sure what it's called but it's the largest piece of the waist) is the part that needs some modification. The surface in the cannon housing is rough, but with the walls on the side, sanding it will be very difficult...

So I opt for an easier solution: cover it up!

Final product:

There's a big gap at the slot where the side skirt is connected. I think I cut off too much when I remove the excess resin...

So again, cover up.

More coming soon!
