A Little Snow Fairy Sugar - 1/1 resin kit

8 months already, it's not that I have given up on the Williams FW36, but during this period I had built something for my friends. One I managed to complete, a pair of SD Patlabor as a wedding gift, and made it back to Hong Kong in March. The other...

It's supposed to complete in June, when I went back to Hong Kong again, but this resin kit was a lot more challenging than the SD Patlabor, and I wasn't able to finish it until now.

The 1/1 resin kit of Sugar from "A Little Snow Fairy Sugar". Think I got it 10 years ago, a friend was a fan of the show and asked me to built it for her. It's one of those "friend's debt", too bad I can't get it too her, hopefully she can still enjoy the photos!

The kit itself is pretty straight forward. As with most resin kits, the surface is a bit rough and needs some work to smoothen it out. The kit can stand on its own, but will definitely need a base to make it stable.

Now for the more difficult part, the leg and the shoe are one whole piece, this will make painting more difficult. The worse problem is the top side of the shoe, the cast around that part is pretty bad, and those wavy sides makes that area impossible to work with, so I have to saw that part off, and make those part......er.........more leg-like and shoe-like. Once that's done I remake the side of the shoe with plastic grooves.

The same it done on the hands. I also separate the fairy wings from back ribbon. It makes working on the ribbon alot easier.

Setting it up one final time before painting.

Painting was pretty straight forward, the eyes were a challenge. Most people will paint the eyes last, but that would be hard to bring out the gloss and shine. So I painted the eyes first, with a few layers of clear coat and polish, then paint the rest of the head.

Complete photos coming up next.
